FERN A. WENGENROTH
Funeral services were held at the Beechler-Killian
chapel in this city Tuesday, March 19, for Mrs. Fern A.
Wengenroth, 37, who died suddenly at the home of her
mother, Mrs. Nancy Johnston, here Sunday, March 17.
Fern A. Baillie was born at Golden Eagle, Ill.,
September 28, 1897, and came of a pioneer family, her
grandparents crossing the plains to Oregon in 1852. She
came to Oregon when a baby and lived at Sherwood until
1904, when she came to Woodburn. She was married to
Walter Wengenroth in 1914, who passed away three years
ago. Surviving are four children, Walter, William, Donna
and Wallace, all at home; a stepson Otter, her mother
and a brother, W. H. Baillie of Roseburg.
Rev. George R. Cromley of the Presbysterian
church preached the funeral sermon. Vocal solos were
given by O. Wayne Tennant who was accompanied by Mrs.
Carl Huber. Pallbearers were Wallace, Delmer, Gordon and
Donald Snyder and Albert and Gail Wengenroth, the first
four being cousins of the deceased and the last two
nephews. Interment was at Hood View cemetery near
Sherwood at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
