Obituary:  ALPHA KRAUSE
     Funeral services for Alpha Krause, age 94, lifetime resident of the Sherwood-Wilsonville area, who died November 9, at a Newberg nursing home, were Wednesday, November 12, 2 p.m. at Attrell's Sherwood Funeral Chapel.  Mr. Lloyd A. Melhorn, pastor of the Sherwood Community Friends Church, officiated and interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sherwood.
     Alpha Krause was born the daughter of Joseph B. Seely and the former Mary Jane Smith in Sherwood Oregon on January 20, 1881.  She was a native Oregonian, living in the Sherwood-Wilsonville area all her active life.  Alpha was the fifth child and the last to pass on in the family of 7 boys and 6 girls.  She attended Pleasant Hill grade school.  On October 13, 1900, she was married to Herman C. Krause at the Sherwood Congregational church.  Her lifetime was spent in caring for her family and helping with the farm work.  Mr. Krause preceded her in death in December31, 1963.  She was active until going to the nursing home in May of 1973.
     Surviving are:  One son, Frank Krause of Sherwood; one daughter, Mrs. Otto (Pearl) Jaeger of Wilsonville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Raymond Dreeszen, Astoria, Oregon, Fred Jaeger, Sherwood, and Don Jaeger, Wilsonville, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

RITES MONDAY FOR E. KRAUSE
Emil F. Krause, age 73, Rt 4, Box 39, Sherwood, died at his home October 19. He had been afflicted with Parkinson's Disease and been in failing health for the past three years.
       Funeral services were held Monday, October 23, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mannenbach-Attrell Sherwood Funeral Chapel with vault interment and committal service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Sherwood. Rev. Otis Harden, pastor of the Sherwood and Tualatin Methodist Churches, officiated the services.
       Emil F. Krause was born July 5, 1894 on the same farm where he passed away near Sherwood, the son of August and Emily Krause. He attended Sherwood schools and was married at Vancouver, Wash. Jan. 6, 1921 to Anna Boston. They farmed in the Sherwood area until moving to Labish near Salem in 1931 to continue as an onion grower. He farmed there until coming back to his home in 1962 to retire.
       He was a member of the World War I Barracks of Tualatin, Post No. 174, having served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the transportation corps.
       His wife, Anna, and nine nieces and nephews survive him.
